Does the church have a future?
Can we grow? Are we going to disappear?
What do we look like ten years from now?
What does Deep Spirituality, Bold Discipleship, and Daring Justice look like in ECORC?
Our church is struggling with some pretty big questions.
We’ve got some decisions to make.
Come and join us on the 98th anniversary of the United Church of Canada to help us create a plan for the future of the church and help our Regional Council figure out what it should do in the coming years to make that future possible!
The futures of the communities of faith of East Central Ontario are at the heart of the strategic plan that we are developing. Let’s navigate it together.
We are encouraging church leaders from across our entire region to join us as we try and figure out what the future holds and how to live into that future. Church Council Presidents, Church Board Secretaries, Ministry Personnel, Congregational Treasurers, Elders and Stewards, Committee members, all leaders (lay and ordered) in our communities of faith are invited to help shape how our Regional Council might address the challenges we face.
Saturday, June 10th, 9am to noon in three locations:
- Bowmanville: St. Paul’s UC, 178 Church Street, Bowmanville, ON
- Peterborough: Westdale UC, 1509 Sherbrooke St, Peterborough, ON
- Napanee: Grace UC, 150 Robert St, Napanee, ON
Registration: See below
These sessions are being hosted by the Discerning Currents Working Group which has been tasked by the Regional Council Assembly of Elders to listen, discern and propose a plan that will be adopted at the end of this year. If you cannot make it on June 10th, don’t worry! There will be online consultations by Zoom and by survey to get your input.
Bring your ideas, visions, suggestions and thoughts. Your Regional Council is navigating the path forward with a focused strategic plan with measurable key objectives that will help shape the future. Be part of it!
We come with a common belief: God is not done with us yet. We hope you’ll agree and join us on June 10th.
