DESCRIPTION:Greeting in the name of the One who unites us. \nYou are being invited to register for the last of three pre-meeting ZOOM opportunities for a closer look and deeper conversation on things that matter. These are the opportunities for engagement. On the strength of these conversations the leadership teams will present to the Regional Council final version of reports and actions for endorsement and action. \n\n It is an organization’s budget that perhaps best reflects its priorities and abilities. The Ministry through Property Team will be sharing the draft budget on Tuesday\, Oct 25th. Learn how the budget is created and the activities it will support.\n\nThese info sessions are not limited to voting delegates of the Regional Council. They are an opportunity to engage with the presenters\, to become more knowledgeable of the workings of the Regional Council and perhaps most importantly\, your opportunity to influence the work and direction of the leadership teams. Dedicated info sessions are the time for engagement\, and I hope that you will avail yourself of these opportunities. \nThe Information sessions begin at 7pm. Please register using the form below. SUMMARY:Fall Business Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Back in 2019\, when planning for the first Fall Meeting of East Central Ontario regional Council (ECORC) it was determined that the two major pieces of business would be to receive relevant updates from the Leadership Teams and to approve the Budget for the following year\, but most importantly it would be a second chance in a year for a full gathering. We knew then that we would be missing Presbytery. Never imagined in 2019 that it would be three years before we would have the chance to gather in person again. \nOn October 29\, in addition to that which may be considered the routine business listed above\, we will be covenanting with Personnel Minister\, Rev. Darren Liepold; receiving and covenanting with the Licensed Lay Worship Leaders (LLWLs); and giving thanks for the ministry and leadership of Rosemary Lambie and releasing her from active ministry in our midst. \nThe gathering begins at 10 am with a Welcome to the Land and Teaching. An Agenda is still being developed but adjournment will be no later than 5 pm. Register now (below) for the in person Fall Meeting and confirm your lunch. \nThe Rev. Paul Reed\,\nSpeaker for the Assembly of Elders \nWe are hoping that voting members are able to be present at Emmanuel UC but if circumstances make it impossible for you to attend\, there is a Zoom option below for you to choose. This ensures you will receive your link on Friday\, October 28th in the AM. \nJust a reminder now that we are in person – we are promoting a scent and nut free gathering space. We also ask that no food or drink be brought into the Sanctuary. \nFor those in the area on Friday evening\, ECORC’s Indigenous Justice and Respectful Relationships forum is hosting a movie night at Mark Street United Church – “Front Runners” is a play about the 1967 pan AM games and some Indigenous boys who carried the torch. This Play is an opportunity to learn more of Canada’s truth in hopes of living into reconciliation. Discussion to follow.
