SUMMARY:Trans Day of Remembrance Candlelight Vigil
DESCRIPTION:To mark this year’s Trans Day of Remembrance\, the Affirm and Equity Committee at Trinity-St. Andrew’s United Church will be holding a candlelight vigil in the Sanctuary from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday\, November 20th. \nHeld annually on November 20th\, Trans Day of Remembrance honours and memorializes those who have lost their lives due to anti-transgender violence. It aims to raise awareness about the violence and ongoing challenges faced by the transgender community. \nTrinity-St. Andrew’s stands in solidarity with trans people and welcomes everyone to show their support and pay their respects by attending this special candlelight vigil on November 20th.

DESCRIPTION:We at Faith United are always looking for ways to expand our outreach and support the community that we live in. This year we have partnered with the Courtice Santa Claus Parade to host a special ‘Breakfast with Santa’ event. Yes\, it’s early\, but this means there will be more time to hang out with Santa himself\, without the hustle and bustle of the Christmas rush. Fun for the whole family! Come and enjoy a hearty breakfast\, decorate some cookies\, have your photo taken with Santa\, as well as exploring a fire truck in the parking lot and/or getting up close and personal with the back of an ambulance. We offer a fully accessible space for those that are differently abled\, and we are proud offer a space that supports all gender identities and sexual orientations. Lots of free parking.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for our 4th annual Pride Walk and Worship Service on Sunday\, June 15\, 2025 in Brighton\, Ontario. \nWe will assemble on the rainbow steps of Trinity-St. Andrew’s United Church at 9:45 a.m. to start the Pride Walk at 10 a.m. The Pride Walk is about 30 minutes long and ends at Brighton’s Memorial Park where the Pride Worship Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. The Walk will proceed rain or shine. \nThe Pride Worship Service begins at 10:30 a.m. in Memorial Park\, Main St and Veteran’s Way (next to the CIBC bank). Featuring great music\, a kids play area\, refreshments and rainbow goodies\, the Pride Service is not to be missed! Bring your own chair and sun hat/umbrella. In case of rain\, the Pride Worship Service will take place in the church at 56 Prince Edward St.\, Brighton.

PIE represents three ways for us to test just how real our Affirmation and celebration of gender or sexual diversity is. Each of the three concepts supports the others. \nPublic = Being out and proud!\nIntentional = Putting thought and resources into action!\nExplicit = Not Having to Wonder! \nThis year we have a fundraiser and a dinner for PIE Day. \nShepherd’s Pie Fundraiser \nOur annual PIE Day fundraiser is back and we’re happy to offer you shepherd’s pies made locally by the culinary program at Port Perry High School. When you buy a Shepherd’s Pie\, whether for yourself or a friend\, the profits will be dedicated to supporting an Affirming Scholarship.
