Ash Wednesday Labyrinth Walk

On Ash Wednesday we begin our journey through Lent to Easter. We remember that we are dust and that we will return to dust. We smudge our forehead with a mixture of oil and with ashes and attest that we are of the ground, of Earth Mother, and to this we will all return. It is a time to reflect on life as a gift, that all we have is by grace. We remember that all comes from God, from the earth, and so to it we will return. As such, there is nothing that is not of God. It humbles us and elicits expressions of thankfulness for all that we have.
