The United Church of Canada is preparing to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2025. Events are taking place across the country and much enthusiasm is building around this milestone. Please keep an eye on this area as we start to post Celebrations happening around our Region!

Celebrations Happening Around our Regional Council

 

As part of our celebrations to mark the United Church’s 100th anniversary, Trinity United Church in Bobcaygeon is doing a series of “Moments in Time.”  John Bick, our archivist, has put together wonderful pictures and text which are being shared in worship over several weeks which tell stories of Canada as it has moved through the past century as well as events at Trinity Church in that same time period, in the context of the Village of Bobcaygeon.  They are informative, entertaining and well done.  As well, the narthex welcome area has a 100th anniversary display, as does the space in front of the communion table in the sanctuary – highlighting artifacts, people, and events.  Photo albums from both Trinity and Providence churches also add to the richness of the experience.
CENTENNIAL EVENT – ROOTS & BRANCHES: 100 Years of the United Church in North Marysburgh in Our Own Words

Step back in time as we celebrate the United Churches of North Marysburgh over the past 100 years. View artefacts, photographs, newspaper archives, old maps, and more. Hear master storytellers and see engaging slideshows. Tea/coffee and light refreshments served. Meet friends old and new. Everyone is warmly welcome.

The event is also the kick-off to our 100 x $100 FUNDRAISER. We are reaching out to the community for help raising 100 donations of $100 each. Would you consider supporting us to help our church continue to thrive into the next 100 years?

Organized by the Centennial Committee of Cressy Glenora Church in celebration of 100 Years of the United Church of Canada.  In this centennial year, we are inspired by a call to deep spirituality, the bold discipleship and the daring justice.

Five churches (Roslin Thomasburg, Trinity Madoc, White Lake Bethesda, St. Andrew’s Queensborough, and St. John’s Tweed) are getting together to celebrate the 100th anniversary of The United Church of Canada on Sunday, September 28th, 11:00 a.m. at Camp Quin-Mo-Lac, with guest speaker Rev. Dr. John Young. Lunch will be provided after the service.

“Walk the Ancient Sands” Pilgrimage is offered as an outward journey of the body and an inward journey of the soul. Together we will walk a 2.5km sandy trail through a unique sand dune habitat, the largest of its kind in the world, at Sandbanks Provincial Park in Prince Edward County, Ontario. Followed by a beach-side agape meal.

FALL 2025: 100th Anniversary Workshop. Continuing our tradition of bold discipleship in community. We are not alone. Folks from across The County will gather to engage the “100th Anniversary Workshop” materials provided by the United Church. We will reflect on the past 100 years of our church and envision the future in community. Hosted by Rednersville-Albury Community Church and Rev. Bradley Ford. Exact date and time to come.
