    Below you will find volunteer opportunities that are needed for our Regional Council Annual General Meetings in the spring and fall. If you feel called to any of them, we would love to hear from you! Please note, this is an application and all applications will be shared with the Facilitation (planning) Forum.
  • Volunteer Opportunities

  • As a Discernmentarian at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), you will support the organization's democratic processes by assisting with the review and discernment of matters brought before the membership. This role involves listening carefully to discussions, considering diverse perspectives, and helping to ensure that decisions are made thoughtfully, fairly, and in alignment with the organization's mission, values, and objectives. Discernmentarians contribute to a respectful and reflective meeting environment by exercising sound judgment, encouraging meaningful participation, and supporting informed decision-making. This role is well suited to individuals who are thoughtful, impartial, and committed to helping members reach well-considered outcomes that serve the best interests of the organization.
  • As the Parliamentarian at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), you will serve as an advisor on meeting procedures, bylaws, and rules of order to help ensure the meeting is conducted fairly, efficiently, and in accordance with organizational governance requirements. The Parliamentarian provides guidance to the Chair and meeting participants on procedural matters, supports the orderly consideration of motions and debate, and helps ensure that all members have an opportunity to participate respectfully in the decision-making process. By promoting consistency, transparency, and adherence to established rules, the Parliamentarian plays a key role in maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the AGM and supporting sound governance practices.
  • As a Steward at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), you will help ensure the meeting runs smoothly, efficiently, and in a welcoming manner. Stewards support attendees by assisting with registration, directing participants, answering general questions, distributing meeting materials, and helping members navigate the meeting process. They play an important role in creating a positive and inclusive environment, supporting logistical arrangements, and helping to maintain order throughout the event. Stewards may also assist with voting procedures, attendee counts, and other administrative tasks as required, contributing to the overall success and effectiveness of the AGM.
  • As a Worship and Communion Volunteer at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), you will help create a meaningful and spiritually enriching experience for participants by supporting the planning and delivery of worship and communion services. This role may include assisting with worship leadership, readings, prayers, music, communion preparation and distribution.
  • As a member of the Tech Team at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), you will work along side the hired tech company and help ensure a seamless and accessible experience for both in-person and virtual participants by supporting the meeting's technology needs. This role includes managing Zoom, monitoring participant engagement and Zoom chat and bringing any technical issues to the hired tech lead. Tech Team volunteers may also be responsible for helping with PowerPoint presentations, ensuring presentations are displayed accurately and on schedule. By providing reliable technical support and helping participants stay connected, the Tech Team plays a vital role in the smooth, professional, and effective delivery of the AGM.
  • As a Registration Table and Welcome Volunteer at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), you will be one of the first points of contact for attendees, helping to create a warm, welcoming, and organized experience. This role includes greeting participants, assisting with registration and check-in, distributing name tags, answering general questions, and providing directions or information about the event. Volunteers in this role help ensure attendees feel informed, supported, and valued from the moment they arrive. By offering friendly assistance and maintaining an efficient registration process, Registration Table and Welcome Volunteers contribute significantly to the overall success, hospitality, and positive atmosphere of the AGM.
