National Centennial Celebration

Join The United Church of Canada on Jun8, 2025 at Gower St. United Church in St. John’s, NL, for a historic day marking the 100th anniversary of The United Church of Canada. The Centennial Worship service will be livestreamed, allowing people from across Canada to participate in real time.

Consider hosting a watch party at your church to celebrate this milestone together. The Centennial is a perfect opportunity to invite friends, family, community members, and those who are new to church (or haven’t come in a while).

Celebrations Happening Around our Regional Council

As part of our celebrations to mark the United Church’s 100th anniversary, Trinity United Church in Bobcaygeon is doing a series of “Moments in Time.”  John Bick, our archivist, has put together wonderful pictures and text which are being shared in worship over several weeks which tell stories of Canada as it has moved through the past century as well as events at Trinity Church in that same time period, in the context of the Village of Bobcaygeon.  They are informative, entertaining and well done.  As well, the narthex welcome area has a 100th anniversary display, as does the space in front of the communion table in the sanctuary – highlighting artifacts, people, and events.  Photo albums from both Trinity and Providence churches also add to the richness of the experience.

On Sunday, May 18, Trinity, Providence and Dunsford United Churches will gather at Kawartha Settlers’ Village, 85 Dunn St, Bobcaygeon, ON K0M 1A0, for a joint worship service in the old Fairbairn Church, a Methodist church erected in 1885.  Folks are invited to wear period dress and to bring a picnic lunch.  Our hymns will be accompanied on a pump organ!  We’re excited about the day!  Everyone is welcome to join us.
