Treasurer for East Central Ontario Regional Council (ECORC)

Brian’s main responsibilities include:

• Prepare the next year’s budget for presentation at the fall semi-annual meeting
• Work with the various teams to develop budgets for the teams
• Circulate financial information when received from GCO account service
• Review financial information from account services to ensure accuracy and proper allocations to accounts
• Review expense claims to ensure correctly prepared and allocate to appropriate accounts
• Provide financial input at ECORC staff meetings and MTPF meetings
• Present budget at fall semi-annual meeting
• Present financial update at spring semi-annual meeting
• Provide input to GCO accounting services as required for the generation of the reviewed financial statements
• Present reviewed financial statements to MTPF team, Council of Elders and semi-annual meetings for review and approval
• Maintain a storage locker for financial records of Bay of Quinte Conference, ECORC and disbanded communities of faith plus other ECORC equipment
• Provide guidance to Community of Faith treasurers
• Receive donations for student bursaries, and other charitable activities. Issue tax receipts at end of year
• Receive payments for team activities and ensure expenses are paid
• Issue payments for TUCC management fees and allocate expense to appropriate tracking fund
• Receive funds from sales of property and distribute as required and approved in the sale approval documents.

Overall, Brian’s role involves overseeing and managing the financial aspects of the organization, ensuring accuracy and transparency, and providing support and guidance where needed.
